Throughout this site you will read about our pledge to support, mentor, and provide on-going education for those who choose to associate with us.  We have outlined our guiding principles and pledged to abide by our voluntary Code of Ethics.

If you are new to alpacas and you choose to allow us help you get started you can do so with confidence knowing we are experienced alpaca breeders, we have participated in extensive alpaca education ourselves, we are recognized contributors to the industry on a local and national level, and educating others is our professional background.

If you are existing alpaca owners you will recognize how important these basics are.  If you are in need of additional mentoring and support you will find a safe place to ask questions and receive guidance.  You will also recognize the quality of our breeding program.

Something we do want to make clear to everyone is:

We offer education, mentoring, and on-going support to anyone who asks, existing client or not.  We do this for the health and welfare of the alpacas, the education and knowledge of the individual, to support the industry and to take the opportunity to “pay it forward.”

~Some Important Considerations~

Our alpacas:

• All breeding stock are registered with Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI)
• All have been tested for BVDV
• Are accustomed to being handled regularly

• All female breeding stock come with reproductive guarantees, two complimentary breedings to any Alpacas of Somerset Farm herdsire, a female cria guarantee (a complimentary breeding if cria is not a female)

Our commitment to education

For those who purchase breeding stock from us we will reimburse the cost of one registration to the annual Camelid Symposium sponsored by Calpaca or a neo-natal training that includes a “wet lab.”  Certain conditions apply...please ask.
When you become a client

When you become a client through the purchase of a breeding alpaca you are eligible for:

• Six months free agisting
• Client discounts on additional breedings
• Client discounts on additional alpaca purchases

What about pet/fiber alpacas

We also have pet/fiber alpacas available for purchase.  In no way do we want to appear to devalue these contributors to the alpaca fiber industry and/or the enjoyment of their owners.  Anyone purchasing a non-breeder from us will receive basic husbandry and hands-on training as well as mentoring and support.
